Marjolein Demmers

Marjolein Demmers is director/chair of Natuur & Milieu, a Dutch NGO with the mission to achieve a sustainable future for all. Aiming for impact on climate change and biodiversity, the organisation works on accelerating transitions in the field of food, mobility, energy and resources. The activities includes advocacy, business partnerships for change, public engagement and campaigns. Concerned about the environment, Marjolein specialised in ecodesign solutions at university. She worked in an ecodesign firm and in management consultancy, obtained an MBA degree at INSEAD, moved into management positions in the business of waste and renewable energy, and was director for the integration of sustainability and integrity in the services of an international engineering firm. Before joining Natuur & Milieu, she was director of the Dutch Sustainable Business Association. Her background gives her a strong understanding of sustainability, strategy, change management, and advocacy.
