Folmer de Haan is coordinating advisor and member of the management team at the Dutch Council for the Environment and Infrastructure (Rli). The Rli is the primary strategic advisory board for the Dutch government and parliament in matters relating to the physical environment and infrastructure. He was affiliated with the Dutch Energy Council (AER) before they merged with the Rli. Before that he worked in (technical) consultancy. Folmer was trained as chemical engineer.
Folmer his work focusses primarily on strategic and governance aspects of industry, process and power sector. He is active in the network of advisory councils EEAC. The European Environment and Sustainable Development Advisory Councils Network (EEAC Network) brings together advisory bodies established by national or regional governments or parliaments. At this moment he chairs the working group on Climate and Energy.
